As one of DC’s leading tech companies and coolest places to work, come learn about our approach to problem-solving, our culture, and what it takes for an ambitious start-up to firm up a roadmap to becoming a multi-billion dollar company. We’ll be sharing how Optoro use Design Thinking across the organization to help solve the big problem around waste in retail returns.
The talk will consist of an open discussion (20-30 minutes) followed by a general discussion.
Optoro is using innovative technology to solve a large and growing global problem. Every year, over 15% of inventory is returned or deemed excess, costing retailers $500 billion nationwide. Our mission is to make retail more sustainable by eliminating all waste from returns. We want to connect returned and excess goods to their next best home in a way that makes the most sense for the buyer, the seller, and the planet. Working with some of the largest retailers in the US, Optoro’s software platform has enabled its clients to maximize recovery costs by 50 - 200%.
Founded in 2010, Optoro has been named one of the fastest growing companies in the US. Optoro has also received many awards and accolades, including CNBC’s Disruptor 50, EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year and the World Economic Forum’s Circular Economy Award, Most recently, Optoro was named a “Top Workplace” in DC by The Washington Post.
